Data protection information for Recruiting and Employer Branding purposes
The information in this section is an addition to our general data protection information created to provide further information related to recruiting and employer branding activities as described below. Please note, that recruiting and employer branding activities at HSH Chemie will be done using our recruiting tool, Teamtailor. Your can find more information on this tool in our “implemented technologies” section.
We update this privacy policy when necessary - for example, because we start processing your personal data in a new way, because we want to make the information even clearer to you, or if it’s necessary to do so in order to comply with applicable data protection laws. We encourage you to regularly check this page for any changes. You can always check the top of this page to see when this privacy policy was last updated.
Applications
You can send us application documents for open vacancies as well as unsolicited applications using our career website form (“applying candidate”). Otherwise, we might have received your data from an HSH Chemie employee or partner (“referred candidate”) or by searching for a suitable candidate on other sites or services (“sourced candidate”). This data privacy policy applies for all kinds of candidates listed above.
We check your application data for the position you applied or are identified for and approach you for this position as well as other open vacancies if we identify a better fit for you.
Your data required for contacting us and for the application process will be stored for the purpose of carrying out an application procedure in compliance with the statutory provisions. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) DSGVO and § 26 para. 1 in conjunction with. Para. 8 p. 2 BDSG (implementation of pre-contractual measures).
The following data may be processed by us in the application procedure:
- Master data (title, first name, surname, date of birth, if applicable)
- Contact data (address, telephone or mobile phone number, private e-mail address)
- Application data (including but not limited to CV, cover letter, certificates, salary expectation, information on earliest possible starting date)
- Information gained in the interview process (including but not limited to qualifications, previous experiences, motivation)
Your personal data will only be shared with the recipients who need it for the respective legitimate fulfillment of their tasks in the recruiting process. If commissioned external service providers receive personal data for these purposes, we ensure when selecting our partners that suitable technical and organizational measures are implemented and necessary agreements are concluded so that the processing is carried out in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations and guarantees the protection of the rights of the data subject. We may pass on personal data to:
- Our affiliated companies as an intra-group transfer, for example for support on the basis of order processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR or joint responsibility in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR
- Authorities and companies to fulfill legal reporting obligations (e.g. social security institutions, tax authorities, police and public prosecutor's office, supervisory authorities)
- Business partners for whom the transfer of data is necessary for the fulfillment of tasks, e.g. external consultants
- Our data protection officer for advice and monitoring of data protection-compliant implementation
- Other third parties for whom the data subject has given consent to the transfer of data or for whom there is a legal authorization to transfer data (e.g. lawyers, insolvency administrators)
Thereby, it might be necessary to transfer and process your data in another country than you applied for. Your data will only be transferred and processed outside of the European Union in case you are interested in joining our team in an HSH Chemie office outside the EU. Please be ensured that we only share personal information when needed and that we ensure an adequate level of data protection for your rights based on GDPR as well as local laws. The legal basis for this is Art. 28 DSGVO or a shared responsibility according to Art. 26 DSGVO.
In the event of employment, the data will be transferred to the personnel employee file.
If an application for a specific vacancy or an unsolicited application is unsuccessful, your data will be stored for evidentiary purposes in any case for up to 12 months after providing consent for the processing of your data for any assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims. You have the possibility to renew your consent for another 6 months before we anonymize your data. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
With your consent, we will gladly include your application data in our talent pool for future vacancies. Therefore, please check the information provided in the “Talent Pool” section.
The provision of data is not required by law or contract. You are not obliged to provide the data. However, if you do not provide the data, it will not be possible to carry out an application procedure and, if applicable, to hire you.

Talent Pool
We have technically created a Talent Pool to stay in contact with talented candidates for future job opportunities within our HSH Chemie Group. You can sign in to this Talent Pool using the “connect” function on our website. Additionally, if your application did not lead to an employment, you might receive an invitation to our Talent Pool from us and can decide if you would like to stay connected.
The provision of data is not required by law or contract. You are not obliged to provide your consent. However, if you do not agree to stay in touch, we will not be able to proactively contact you for future jobs.
As part of our Talent Pool, you will receive additional information regarding career opportunities and news within the HSH Chemie Group per mail.
Your data required for contacting and for evaluating your profile for future jobs will be stored for the purpose of staying connected and carrying out future application procedures in compliance with the statutory provisions. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DSGVO.
The following data may be processed by us:

When transferring to an active application process, your data will be shared with the relevant department and managers.
Thereby, it might be necessary to transfer and process your data in another country than you live in. Your data will only be transferred and processed outside of the European Union in case you are interested in joining our team in an HSH Chemie office outside the EU. Please be ensured that we only share personal information when needed and that we ensure an adequate level of data protection for your rights based on GDPR as well as local laws. Your data will be stored for 12 months starting with your consent declaration for the processing of your data. Thereby, you have the possibility to renew your consent for another 12 months before we anonymize your data. Therefore, we will contact you shortly before the 12 months ends to ask for your consent to determining whether you will remain in our Talent Pool. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
At any time, you can contact our HR team to update or delete your data stored in our Talent Pool via mail to career@hsh-chemie.com.
Newsletter
When submitting your application, you have the additional possibility to sign in for a newsletter. This is an optional service we offer you providing you news on HSH Chemie and our newly opened positions.
We use your personal data such as name, address, telephone number or e-mail address for the intended purpose mentioned above. After your confirmation, we will save your data up to 6 months after the conclusion of the application procedure. Before anonymizing your data, you will have the option to renew your consent extending the data retention period for another 6 months. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR.
Furthermore, when signing in to the newsletter you accept that we track your user behavior. For this analysis, the emails sent contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which are one-pixel image files that are stored on our website. We use the data obtained to create a user profile in order to tailor the newsletter to your individual interests. In doing so, we record when you read our newsletters, which links you click on and deduce your personal interests from this. We link this data to the actions you take on our website. This data is used to provide more relevant content to you but it will not influence our recruiting selection process.
You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter without naming any reasons by informing us via mail to career@hsh-chemie.com.
